A superb 19th C Syrian Damascus walnut marriage chest with ornate inlaid mother of pearl and bone.  Of particular note are the rare serpentine front and exceptional detail including a double layer of inlaid bone around the drawers.

The sides are walnut with less ornate but nonetheless beautiful mother of pearl inlay.
